FAQ vServer VPS and dServer VDS

• How long does an vServer VPS/dServer VDS order take?
  Server orders are processed in realtime (after payment is received). You get ip address and root password directly and can login in few minutes.
  
  
• Which vServer-Software is used?
  We use Virtuozzo(TM) in VPS and VDS.
  
  
• Who is responsible for the server security?
  You are responsible for the security on your server, because you have root access and can install own services.
  
  
• It is possible to order more ip addresses for one vserver/dServer?
  
  • 1 fixed IP is included with each server. It's possible to add more IPs for a only setup fee for each IP of 6.03 €.
  
  
• Which software may be installed?
  You may install any software you want to.
  There a only a few exceptions. Forbidden is:
  
  • Illegal software (of course).
  • Software, that use inadequately (hardware) ressources.
  • Gameserver and IRC-Services (including IRC-Bouncers and Clients).
  
  
• I have a vServer/dServer with Confixx. As I activate Confixx?
  
  1. Log in your vServer/dServer by SSH with root user.
  2. Look for the script /configure.sh in the root dir. The Script acts as configuration program for Confixx and asks you all necessary parameters. The Script configure.sh is now in two languages (German, English) available and leads the user clearly more simply by the configuration procedure. As used the user can determine further whether services are to be activated such as SpamAssassin or not.
  3. They can call now the Confixx administration interface in the Browser:

     Use for logging the password indicated in the configuration.
